'The Lake house', I had no idea what was going on, well I had an inkling, a bit confusing if you’re just watching it when doing other things …. And it still had me in bloody tears especially towards the very end when he didn’t cross the road. If you have no idea what I’m talking about then that makes two of us!

The volcano that is still piping hot ash into the atmosphere has affected many of us particularly in Europe.

We have a store in the UK called ‘Icelands’ and the boss of this supermarket chain, Malcolm Walker, 64 no less, was last night still trapped in the Arctic by ash.

Kinda poetic!

Iron Man 2 will be out on May 7th, it looks so good. I hope my daughter is up for this one as I will need to use her as an excuse to see it. Lol

I nailed The Runaway Bride last night. Another that wasn’t on my list but still a good fun film, I felt it had a lot of similarities to Pretty Woman but I may have already prejudged it and may have been looking for that.

The best one liner for me was when she ran from the church and jumped aboard a FedEx truck:

Ellie: Where is she going?

Fisher: I don't know, but she'll be there by 10:30 tomorrow.

You don't need to have a child as excuse to see it!

Your poor daughter having to see films she may not want to just to please her dear Ol dad!

She's so good to you ;]

Bicentennial Man

Maybe I’ve become a little emotional over the years but as I sat watching Bicentennial Man I wept at the death of Lil’ Miss and smiled and laughed at the clever way Robin Williams portrayed the character Andrew.

I sat there with my mouth open as I watched a mechanical heart come to life and pump … if only!!

Andrew watched as his loved ones died through the years and his fight to be called human so he could marry and eventually die. I couldn’t help thinking I’d seen this idea in film somewhere before.

Nevertheless, a very clever and remarkable film, so glad I nailed it.

*Read All About It*

I just left Joli's journal where she writes some of the best poetry I have seen, not just on VR but anywhere.

Her latest entry, Old Cast-Net reminded me of the poems we would dissect in an English lit class to find out just what the writer was aiming at.

Her aspirations, dreams and thoughts all come to life. She writes with detailed depth and yet somehow melancholy too. Each poem has a different tale to tell. I just wish she'd hurry up and get published.

I've said it before and I’ll say it again, if there's one journal that ever needed to be added to your fav's list then surely this must be it.

The crime is it's totally free to you guys.

Grow Up!! .. Never!

20:16 Apr 01 2010
Times Read: 854

I was chatting to a friend who I’ve known most of my life that I hadn’t spoke to since Xmas, it feels strange calling him a friend as it just seems so inadequate. I am blessed to have four of these guys who are that close.

Anyway, on reminiscing about scraping knees and climbing trees and just growing up in general, it dawned on us that we never had a tree house, but what we did have was an old attic room that served the same purpose.

We would plan the overthrow of the world from up there and then as we grew the subject of women would be discussed in detail.

Plastic soldiers were melted in anger, battles won and lost in tiresome campaigns that we would reconstruct on a battle map, musical tastes were formed or forming. That old record player certainly played some classics of the day.

I don’t remember growing up, maybe I never did.
